The name zëmik is inspired by szëmich, a kind-hearted forest spirit from kaszubian folklore. szëmich, the guardian of the woods, preserves the gentle silence and soft sounds of nature. he watches over the peace and safety of the forests, tends to the flora and fauna, and safeguards the natural balance, inviting all beings to move with ease and harmony within the world he protects. weaves wisdom from artistic workshops, holistic mentoring, bodywork and artistic-therapeutic guidance.
My offerings are grounded in holistic, building connection, tenderness, and the joy of experiencing oneself. it is guided by principles of non-forcing, and spacious listening – inviting the body, feelings, and intuition to unfold without expectation. you will receive and work with intermediate art therapeutic methods, somatic bodywork (reiki and zen thai shiatsu) and also can find workshops for community experiences.
I honor the human being as a self-healing system, holding within it all the intelligence needed to regenerate. the practice supports remembering how the body, emotions, and creative impulses can naturally lead the way. my deeper inspiration is to reconnect people with themselves and the wider cosmos; ultimately, it is through the body that this sense of belonging to oneself and the world is remembered.
About
My artistic practice moves between visual art, performance, music, and writing, exploring the connection between the human and more-than-human world, shaped by trees, colors, movement, and sound. I studied Ethnology and Photography in Düsseldorf (B.A.) and Fine Art at the HFBK Hamburg (M.F.A.). Out of my work as an artist and teacher at alternative schools and community projects, this space gradually grew. I found my way into Contact Improvisation, drawn by touch as a language of its own — a way of listening and speaking that needs no words. From there, I trained in bodywork methods like Zen Thai Shiatsu, Reiki, Intermedial Art Therapy, and Holistic Coaching, deepening a practice where connection, intimacy, and relation can unfold through the body.
In my sessions and workshops, I invite the body, heart, and imagination to lead, trusting that understanding often arrives through feeling and presence, not thinking, through touch, through silence, through what moves beneath the spoken, receiving. With love, Julia
